ive replaced my old knackered kenwood cd player with a nice new sony one with ipod in etc.
when plugged in, the new one seems to be getting power because its accepting/ejecting disks, but thats it, no noises and nothing displayed.
Ive checked the headunit works by testing it in a mates corsa, it worked fine. his headunit also works fine in my car.
Ive tried another friends headunit in my car and the same thing happens that did with my sony, accepts/ejects disks, but thats it.
So out of 3 headunits, the 2 with ipod/usb input have the same symptoms and the one with just an aux input works fine.
has anyone here had the same problem? thanks.
new headunit problem.

yeah, the old one worked, but it was generally a bit crap and couldn't cope with a bumpy ride anymore without cutting out. it was connected with some home-made looking wiring loom adapter into whatever wierd kind of connector kenwood used back then.

Re: new headunit problem.
ive sorted it, the wiring loom came with 3 wiring options, red-red yellow-yellow, red-yellow, both to yellow...... well it turns out i needed to wire both to red, so ive just lopped off the twin connector from the yellow wire (switched) and splined it with the perm live. its nice having a nice stereo and all 4 speakers working (and good quality) for the first time :)
