Hi all, just bought a GT2 thats in much need of some attention, I plan to bring it back to its original state.
So first question is, what wheels/alloys would have been fitted to it out of the showroom? Its a 1992 GT2.
It had some P slots on it but the guy I bought it from wanted to keep them so I've got some 14" polo mk3.5 steelies on it right now.
Cheers

Unless it had optional alloys it should have had 14" steel wheels fitted. Take a look at the Drivers found website, it lists all the old sales books.

Thats what i'm wanting to go for, am I right in saying these are the style found on Mk2 Golf's and Scirocco's?tinkerbel wrote:Mines same year came with B.B.S.Alloys on.

I've seen this style aswell fitted to Golf's not sure if there from the right era though? EDIT: scrap that, these are 5 stud so obviously not right for a Scirocco.

Re: What wheels should my GT2 have?
yeah the steels were factory standard but the RA was a factory/dealer option - they have a VW part number and yes were std on the 'big bumper' mk2 golf gti in 6 x 15 spec.

Re: What wheels should my GT2 have?
BBS RAs suit the GTII really well but standard were deffo 14inch steels with plastic hubcaps (rare) and rim trims. G60 steels look ace too (15 inch). I've gone down a different route with mine (black 16" twin spokes).
Tornado GTII: Koni, Flo-flex, Girling, Weber, K&N, Powerflow, Goodridge, ASA, Yokohama... to fit: stainless 4 branch.
