Tyres ?

185 x60x14's..... anyone recommend tyres in this size. Just had Avus wheels refurbed and am renewing the mixed perished batch that were on the car when I got it.

Looking for something that are maybe a 'sports' tyre rather than the run of the mill 'eco warrior' type and with rim protection (if you can in this size). Don't want to go to high top end tyres as relatively speaking its not going to do loads of miles, so middle of the road branded tyres not ditch finders! :shocking:

Any advice would be welcome

are they not meant to be 65 profile?

either way, how about a set of proxes cf1? or a set of falken ziex. with the register discount from mytyres or black circles (can't remember which one) you should get them for under £40 a corner

185/60/14 is the correct size. I recently renewed all 4 on my Storm, I bought Pirelli P6000 at £45 a tyre fitted and balanced. This was from little independant garage.
There are bargains to be had out there, just ask.

Well in the end I have opted for Dunlop SP sport 01's as I considered them to be a little more of a sports tyre than most, especially as there are not many in the 185x60x14 range and at £50 all in didn't seem bad for a premium tyre. Had the option of Firestone TZ300a for £47 and obviously some 'ditch finders' for a bit less but I recon for he extra couple of quid the Dunlops should be worth it... time will tell ! :whistle:

Done a few miles on them now & seem good, pretty quiet ride & good grip. Can't say what they are really like in the wet, as hasn't rained when i've used it :chortle: I'm happy with them though & I know it sounds daft but, they suit the car...Dunlop tyres an a 90's car just seems right!
