Vacuum sensor connector, how do I fix this?

The wire broke right at the connector. Any suggestions how to fix this or can the connector be disassembled and new connectors fitted?

I think 037906240 will fit - perhaps others can confirm. The easiest option would probably be to buy one second hand with wiring tails attached - there are several on ebay.

Never messed about with one of those type of connectors. Is a special tool required?

For anyone's interest - I found this really useful link on the VWVortex forum. Lots of useful VW specific electrical and connector references. https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/electr ... s.6948714/

To fit new terminals into the connector you would need a non-insulated crimp tool suitable for the terminals used, something like this might do the job:

Splicing a used connector with wiring tails still attached, for example by soldering and shrink wrapping the joint, would be an easier option, albeit not so elegant.
